Hockey tournament scheduled to raise money in support of breast cancer services

In Pink Ribbon activities news, a hockey tournament is being organized in support of breast cancer support services in Burlington, a city in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario.

The Breast Cancer Support Services of Burlington (BCSS), founded in 1988 by two women diagnosed with the condition, is slated to be the beneficiary of an upcoming hockey tournament. The Ruth Inglehart Memorial Breast Cancer Hockey Tournament will be held on July 23 and feature three divisions of men's and women's competitions, as well as two co-ed divisions.

The entry fee for each competing team is CAD $649.75, and all net proceeds from the event go directly to Breast Cancer Support Services. The tournament has raised more than $50,000 during its existence.

"We started this event almost six years ago after the loss of my mom, Ruth," Michelle Inglehart told InsideHalton.com. "She was a woman of many loves - her children, husband, family, cooking, baking, but most of all, mom loved hockey."

The BCSS is a volunteer organization that provides women with free breast cancer education services and support groups.
